This Lehigh Valley Standard Tower kit is based on actual drawings of the Lehigh Valley Railroad’s “standard” framed wooden interlocking tower. This design was created in the early 1900’s (drawings are dated 06/06/07) and replicated at several locations along the Lehigh Valley’s mainline in Pennsylvannia and Western New York. Examples of this tower design were located at East Penn Junction in Allentown, Pennsylvannian as well as Athens, Bethlehem (near the Hill-to-Hill Bridge), Catasauqua, Coxton, Easton (original tower), Geneva Junction, Manchester, P&L Junction, Pittston Junction, Treichlers, and Union Street, Allentown (bay window added later).
